Tags (Settings > Tags) is a way of grouping related campaigns, movies, items, or cinemas so that you can more easily target audiences, create conditional content, and filter searches and reports.
The feature can be used to create both campaigns and journeys.
Examples of how tags can be used
- Target members who have previously received communications about Marvel movies.
- Target members who have previously purchased hot drinks.
- Create conditional content for members whose favorite cinema is in the west of a region versus the east.
- Filter a report to see only sci-fi-related campaigns.
Where items, cinemas, and movies come from
- The lists of items and cinemas you can tag is sourced from your Vista software (Item and Site records).
- The list of movies you can tag is sourced from TMDB.
Notes and tips
- Only campaign tags can be created on the fly (on the campaign Details tab). All other tags must be created from the Tags area under Settings.
- Tags aren't required for deploying a campaign, but we recommend you use them to keep your campaigns organised.
- Each campaign can have multiple tags.
- You can add tags before or after a campaign is deployed.
- If a tag is updated during campaign creation (for example, a new cinema is added to a cinema tag), the target audience won't immediately reflect the change. It will, however, when the campaign is sent.
- Because journeys tend to be unique, there are no such thing as journey tags. There is also no tag filter in the Journeys report. You can, however, use campaign and other tags in a journey's condition.
- Use a consistent naming convention. This will make your tags easier to find and use.
- Archive any tags you no longer use.
