This table will help you understand the purpose of individual audience filters, how they work, and how you could use them.
Filter name | Filter definition | Example use case |
Most frequented cinema | Allows you to target members using the cinema/cinema tag/cinema type they most frequently visit. A member's most frequented cinema is calculated based on the member's last 5 sessions (not transactions). | Drive attendance to a particular cinema by targeting people who regularly frequent that cinema but may not have specified it as their preferred cinema. |
Purchased movie | Allows you to target members who purchased tickets to a specific movie at a specific cinema/cinema type and within a specific date range. The 'from' and 'to' dates are transaction dates. | Send a targeted communication to members who purchased tickets to a movie within the first week of tickets going on sale to let them know they've earned a reward. |
Purchased session | Allows you to target members who purchased tickets to a specific session of a movie, at a specific cinema/cinema type. The 'from' and 'to' dates are session dates. | Send a targeted communication to members who purchased tickets to sessions on the opening weekend of a movie. |
Favorite cinema |
Allows you to target members who have selected a specific cinema as their favorite in their loyalty account. A member can have only one favorite cinema. Note: Depending on your Vista Loyalty setup, your website may not have 'favorite cinema' as a mandatory field for membership signup. In that case, you won't be able to use this filter. |
Build a campaign to announce a new amenity or feature at a specific cinema to all those members who selected that cinema as their favourite cinema while signing up for your loyalty program. |
Cinema preference (member) | Allows you to target members based on a manually specified cinema preference in their profile. Depending on the setup in Vista Loyalty, a member can have more than one cinema preference. | Send your weekly newsletter to members with relevant content based on the cinema they have told you they prefer. |
Last transacted | Allows you to target members based on the time elapsed since they last transacted. Pre-configured time ranges are available for ease of use. You can also use a custom date range if needed. | Send an offer to members who haven't transacted for a certain period to try to bring them back to your cinema. |
Purchased item | Allows you to target members who have purchased a specific item. You can also choose from item tags you've created in EQ or item classes you've created in Vista Loyalty. A custom date range can be selected to limit the dates of purchase for that item. | Promote a new chocolate bar, for example, to members who have previously purchased any item tagged as 'chocolate'. |
Clicked link | Allows you to target members based on specific links they have clicked in a campaign/campaigns. You can search for the campaign/campaign tag and then individually select the links within those campaigns. | When promoting a specific film, find members who have not yet seen the film but who have clicked on a link in a campaign email to promote that film. |
Campaign received | Allows you to target members who were sent a specific campaign. |
Combine this filter with other filters to identify members who received a campaign with a specific call-to-action but did not follow through. For example, after sending a campaign promoting an offer to see a movie in the coming weekend, use the "Campaign received" filter with the "Purchased movie" filter (in the Exclude section) to send a timely reminder to members who received the offer but haven’t yet taken it up. |
Campaign opened | Allows you to target members who have opened an email from a Movio campaign. |
Target members who opened an email promoting a ‘coming soon’ film two months ago but still haven’t seen the film. Send them a campaign to promote this film before it is taken out of the cinema. Note: While open rates aren't as reliable as they once were, they can still, in combination with click tracking and other engagement metrics, provide valuable insights into deliverability and engagement. |
Membership status | Allows you to target members based on their current member status – issued, activated, expired, or deleted. | Remind individuals whose membership has been issued but not activated that they need to activate it. Or exclude from all campaigns members whose membership status is 'deleted'. |
Issued at | Allows you to target members based on the date on which their membership was created. | Target members who signed up to your loyalty program after a particular date. |
Point balance | Allows you to target members based on their current loyalty points balance. | Send a campaign to members who are very close to reaching a significant points level (for example, a free movie-ticket reward or new tier) to encourage them to attend again to reach that level. |
Transacted | Allows you to target members who transacted at your cinemas. You can narrow your search by cinema, transaction source, or transaction date range. | Target members who attended your cinema on a specific date with a survey about that experience. |
Transaction source preference | Allows you to target members based on the preference of the transaction source (POS, Kiosk, Mobile, etc.) | Encourage online ticketing behaviour by sending an online ticketing offer to those members who have 'Point of Sale' as their transaction source preference. |
Transaction source ranking | Allows you to target members based on their transaction activity from a specific source when ranked against other members | Identify members with low engagement at a particular transaction source and encourage them to transact there. |
