Audience filters allow you to use demographic, transactional, behavioral, and other data to create highly targeted audiences for your campaigns.
Once you've added and configured your first filter, you can use the information in the Audience profile to add further filters and refine your audience.
- Filters can be added to Movie blocks to narrow (more tightly target) them.
- They can also be added separately as Include or Exclude blocks to expand or narrow your overall audience.
- You can create more complex filtering with multiple blocks.
- Use smart filters to harness the power of our Propensity Algorithm™, calculations, and AI features, such as personas, projected CLV, and projected churn.
AND/OR logic
This is tricky to understand, so, along with the text explanations below, we've included some visual examples further down.
- Filters within a block use AND logic. This means that they build on each other and serve to narrow (more tightly target) the audience generated by the block.
- Note, though, multiple selections within the same filter use OR logic, expanding the audience that filter generates.
- Blocks, on the other hand, use OR logic. This means that they operate independently and serve to expand (or narrow, in the case of Exclude filters) the overall audience.
Examples
The above filters target an audience that has purchased tickets to Despicable Me 4 or The Garfield Movie, and Inside Out 2.
The above filters target an audience that has purchased tickets to Despicable Me 4 and The Garfield Movie and Inside Out 2. As you can see from the moviegoer numbers, this is a narrower audience than the one above.
